SCAVENGER HUNT ​

What is a scavenger hunt?
A scavenger hunt is a game where you receive a list of specific items and/or actions to complete. Participants work in small teams to gather or complete all missions on the list in a set time frame. In this Zombie Ahhhhdventure, you will also have to avoid being infected by zombies as you race to three checkpoints around the city.

Where and when will the scavenger hunt be held?
The scavenger hunt will start in front of Vapriikki, in Tampere at 14.00 on Saturday 14 September, 2019

Who can participate? Is there an age limit?
As zombies will be roaming the streets, we must protect our children! So the scavenger hunt is for people aged 15 years and over. We have limited child care places available for children aged 7-14. Please see the childcare section below.

What do I need to bring on the day?​
Please bring your confirmation email (electronically or printed out) and a smartphone with camera (if you have one). Don't forget your creativity and thirst for survival!

What missions will I be doing on the day?

Back Up Power
In the zombie apocalypse, the electrical grid has gone down. Can you find a backup generator/supply of electricity or... will you live in the dark? Find a source of electricity and take a photo of your team with the device to earn 100 points.

What is the minimum / maximum team size?
There will be 4-6 people on each team. You can register as a whole team, or we will assign you a team on the day!

I want to play but don't have a team. How can I join a team?
If you don't have a team, we will assign you to a team at the start of the event.

Can I choose my own team?
Absolutely! Please email us at hunt4yourlife@gmail.com with the names of all your team members, or see our staff on the day of the event to register as a team.
​
Is there a time limit for the scavenger hunt?
Yes, you will have a maximum of 2.5 hours to complete as many missions as you can and reach all three checkpoints.
​
What if it rains?
The hunt will be on. We will be in the middle of a zombie apocalypse and rain will be the least of your worries as you run from zombies and hunt for your life!

TICKETS
​
Do I need to purchase tickets for the event before the day?
We recommend that you purchase tickets as early as possible to get the best price! You can also purchase a ticket on the day of the event for 30€. Purchase tickets now.
Where are my tickets for the event?
We will send you a confirmation email once we have received payment. This will be your ticket for the event. Please remember to bring this (electronically or printed out) on the day of the event.

What payment types do you accept?
We accept bank transfer payments. Make sure you register first on the tickets page before you send a payment! Alternatively, we can meet you in person if you would like to pay cash. Email us at hunt4yourlife@gmail.com to arrange this.

Please include your full name and number of participants in the message section so we can match your payment to your registration.
Eg. If you want 3 adult tickets, 2 adult tickets with childcare and 1 additional child for childcare, you would write:

Do you accept Smartum, or e-Passi culture vouchers for payment?
No, we are currently unable to accept smartum or e-passi culture vouchers.

I paid for a ticket, but can't attend now. Can I get a refund?
The registration is binding and we do not refund the entry fees. However, you can transfer your participation to another person. Please email us at hunt4yourlife@gmail.com at least 24 hours prior to the event to advise us of your name and the new participant's name.

CHILDCARE
Can I bring my children?
We have limited places for supervised childcare on the day of the event for children aged 7 and up.

How much will childcare cost?
Please see tickets page for game tickets with childcare. These tickets include childcare for one child. Childcare for additional children can be purchased for 15€ per child.
​
What will children be doing?
While parents hunt through Tampere, kids will play their own fantasy adventure! They will experience the fun of video games in the real world (off the screen) with the fast paced, outdoor, Story Game System. Kids will play with specially designed foam swords that are both fun and safe, testing their skills against each other and maybe even monsters! (specially trained actors and educators).

I'm scared of zombies. How can I protect myself?
We understand! Zombies are scary! But remember they have no brains, so use yours to outwit and outlast them in this hunt!

Can I become a volunteer for the event?
Yes! If your're interested, please send us an email at hunt4yourlife@gmail.com. We'd love to hear from you!! You could be a zombie, help us manage the teams or even get involved with marketing!

Who created this game?
Mez Lie, Leland Masek, Kristen Morris and Daniel F. Galeote . We are proud to be working with local groups to promote gaming culture in Tampere.
​
Daniel is an award-winning game designer and writer from Spain. He has worn almost every hat in digital and non-digital game development projects, both independently and for international clients. In Tampere, Daniel has been involved with the Spoken Word Theatre company and co-founded the Finland International Game School. Hunt For Your Life gives him a chance to combine many disciplines he dearly enjoys. He also hopes you don’t turn into a zombie. Maybe.

Leland is an award winning live action game designer and educator from the United States. He has designed game based education programs in Boston, New York City, Pennsylvania, and now in Tampere! Leland has worked with the City of Tampere, FISTA and is the co-founder and program designer at the Finland International Game School. He loves designing creative games for kids and is excited to see who survives the apocalypse!

Mez is a number cruncher from Australia and loves to create games from everyday tasks, roping all around her into random fun! Kristen is from the United States and is famous for her lively board game nights (and extra large shot glasses!) They love all forms of games and puzzles and this project has allowed them to tackle gaming from a designer’s viewpoint.
​
Mez & Kristen are also our website designers, sales and marketing team, social media content creators, photographers, prop makers and game test dummies! They weren’t hurt in the creation of this game, only nibbled on!
